The suspects also attempted to kidnap the driver in the incident.

AN e-hailing driver was hijacked and escaped an attempted kidnapping on Firwood Road on Sunday evening.

According to Sanveer Sooklall of Swift Private Security, the incident occurred just after 18:00.

“The e-hailing driver said he had a request to pick up passengers from the KwaMashu area and drop them off in Firwood Road. As the driver was dropping them off at their destination, they held the driver up at gunpoint and took his wallet and personal belongings.”
