Armed suspects rob Effingham business
The suspects, who were reportedly armed with firearms, allegedly assaulted both staff members and patrons during the robbery.
FOUR suspects are on the run after they held up and robbed a business on Effingham Road on Sunday (August 23) at about 13:30.
During the robbery staff members and patrons were allegedly assaulted by the suspects.

Sanveer Sooklall, spokesperson of Swift Private Security, said four armed suspects were involved.
“One suspect remained outside while three armed suspects entered the business. The suspects, who were reportedly armed with firearms, allegedly assaulted both staff members and patrons during the robbery. The suspects stole cash and at least one cellphone before fleeing the premises,” he said.
The suspects were reported to have fled in the direction of Desai Crescent.
“Our officers searched the surrounding area and conducted patrols along the reported escape route, however, no suspects or suspicious activity were located. At this stage, it remains unclear whether the suspects used a vehicle or fled on foot,” he said.
