Danville triumph at Fast 5s challenge netball tourney
The defending champs met Our Lady of Fatima Dominican Convent School (DSC) in the regional final where the ‘Danville Diamonds’ sparkled.
DANVILLE Park Girls’ High School claimed their third title in the final of the Durban North Regional of the SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5s Challenge on the weekend.
The event was hosted by Ashton International College on Saturday, September 12.
The defending champs met one time regional winner and fellow Durban North school, Our Lady of Fatima Dominican Convent School (DSC) in the regional final where the ‘Danville Diamonds’ sparkled.

The team won the final 13-10, topped the log after their seven games, and were victorious in all of the round robin games.
Our Lady of Fatima fought for their place in the final after losing their round robin game to hosts Ashton and then a narrow defeat by Danville, in their second fixture.
Thereafter however, they refocused, claiming victory in all of their remaining matches.
Fatima beat Ashton in the second semi-final 15-10 whereas Danville beat Curro Salt Rock 19-5.
Guided by Baby Proteas coach, Precious Mthembu, Danville have featured in all but one of the regional finals.
Danville also had their U16 team compete as an invitational team, and they held their own against senior first teams, winning one out of their four games.
