Klaasen powers DSG to SA20 final
The win now means Durban's Super Giants will meet Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 final on Saturday.
A DOMINANT all-round performance from Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) saw them dispatch the Joburg Super Kings (JSK) by 69 runs in their Betway SA20 Qualifier 2 and book their place in a first SA20 final on Saturday.
Devastating batting from Heinrich Klaasen (74) and Wiaan Mulder (50), coupled with a disciplined bowling display saw DSG claim their first win over the Super Kings at the Wanderers.
The Durban franchise scored 211 in their allotted 20 overs and showed no mercy on former Protea Imran Tahir who went for 45 runs in his three overs and England’s Sam Cook who went for 58 runs in four overs.
With some dangerous batters in the Joburg Super Kings line-up, the Super Giants needed early wickets.
They got those reducing the home team to 32 for 3 in six overs.
Junior Dala was the pick of the DSG bowlers with 4 for 38 as they bowled out the opposition inside 18 overs for 142.
It was a decisive second spell for Dala as he picked up three wickets for four runs which included two wickets in two balls.
