Lochner de Kock’s latest album

MELVILLE - Singer Lochner de Kock has relased his latest album at a get together at Die Vel & Horing.

At his recent album launch, Melville singer Lochner de Kock said this albums contains a piece of his heart.

The launch took place at Vel & Horing in 7th Street.

“I am not going to make a speech and I am not going to sing. But we are now going to play one of the tracks on the album, and now you will have to listen to it…”

And the audience was treated to Leer Dans, the first track on the album.

De Kock has come a long way since the hit Afrikaans song Tussen treine (a duet with Richard van der Westuizen) and doing the voice of Sarel Seemonster on Wielie Walie. He also made his mark on television and appeared in many drama series. And do not forget about his love for food, and the fact that he only eats food “that were prepared with love”.

He presented a cook programme Kyk-innie-pot when kykNET first aired.

De Kock said this album Haal asem en leer dans took seven years to complete and he plans to go on tour next year, “but some of the music started 40 years ago”.

With the exception of two tracks, all the hits are freshly written by De Kock. He also recorded the traditional song Sarie Marais and a song he co-wrote with Riku Lätti called Verweg van die huis.

Music promotor Lydia Winchester thanked the audience and the media for their support.

“This album is an amazing product and the media’s support is truly wonderful in these hard times where CD sales are dropping.”

Together with his new album De Kock is also playing the lead character in a radio drama series on RSG.
