One Hundred times a Rose
MONTGOMERY PARK - Rose Smit celebrates one hundred years.
Members of the Montgomery Haven Retirement Village bible fellowship group treated Miss Rose Smit to a celebration for her one hundredth birthday.
The centenarian entered Wednesday bible study on 13 November, to find her group members awaiting her grand entrance, ready to sing Happy Birthday and welcome her. She thanked her friends, took pictures and then blew out a single candle reflecting her one century milestone.
“We are showing our love and respect to Rosie and we’d like to thank her for her love towards us over the years as a bible study group,” said Stanley Haqq who has been organising the Montgomery Haven bible study group since 1999.
Guests enjoyed snacks and cake before Pastor Graheme Robson lead the group in fellowship.
The Montgomery Haven bible fellowship group meets every Wednesday morning at the village and is open to everyone.
