Community-based security initiative CAP has commenced operation in Emmarentia and Greenside.
Residents of the two suburbs awoke to yellow wrapped trees and CAP vehicles live on the streets on 1 December.
The not for profit initiative is active in sixteen other operational areas and warmly welcomes Emmarentia and Greenside into the CAP family, with 24/7 activity.
Emmarentia resident and devoted volunteer Azhar Cassim who was involved in launching CAP in the area stresses the need for unity and reaches out to those who have not yet joined to align with this community initiative.
“Start taking an active role in not only your security but that of your neighbours,” Cassim urged.
CAP CEO Mark Van Jaarsveld calls for an involved and alert community.
“Community involvement is key. If you see two or more unknown males in the street call CAP,” Van Jaarsveld advised. Van Jaarsveld assured that CAP officers will be sent to ensure that everything is okay.
CAP believes that together with the community, they will build a safer neighbourhood.
