Matriculants have now received their results and while many are preparing to register their courses at universities, others still have to apply to a tertiary institution.
Some candidates find themselves faced with lower marks than anticipated or required, and therefore are left with the stress of finding reputable institutions to enrol in.
Often, this time of the year, universities have filled up many of the spaces they are offering, more so with the courses in most demand.
In this case, matriculants might have to consider other platforms for fulfilling their dreams.
“Do not be despondent if you have not been awarded access for direct entry into bachelor’s degree study, or have been unable to secure a place in public universities due to limited space availability,” said Boston City Campus and Business College’s CEO, Professor Ari Katz.
“Public universities only have a restricted amount of resources available, and they can only cope with a capped maximum number of students they are able to accommodate. Any institution of higher learning that has reached its capacity will have to turn away students as they will not be able to accommodate them,” Katz explained.
Hopefuls have a variety of alternatives for obtaining their desired qualifications, such as through distant learning and private institutions that are certified to offer degrees.
All hope is not lost for matriculants who fared below their set target – the world is their oyster.
