Readers of the Northcliff Melville Times were shocked in November when we published screenshots from a video posted online by a resident which revealed Melville’s ‘hunchback’ beggar was not disfigured.
The man, whose face was uncovered in the video posted to YouTube, appeared to be much younger than the character he acted out daily on Main Road.
After reports that the same man also operates in Rosebank, it seems he may be back in our area after a hiatus of a few months. Not even a kilometre away from his old spot on Main Road where he was busted before, the ‘hunchback’ has been spotted in our area again.
One of our journalists encountered the conman while driving along Kingsway Avenue in Auckland Park.
After she expressed knowledge of his ruse he proceeded to hurl insults and expletives at her until she drove away.
Be on the lookout for this pseudo thespian, once again taking to our streets for prolonged dress rehearsals.
