Lindenkoor turns 21

LINDEN - Lindenkoor celebrates the 21st birthday milestone on 12 April.

An award winning youth choir, Lindenkoor, will be celebrating its coming of age with a gala concert on 12 April.

Lindenkoor performs under the banner of Hoërskool Linden where many well-known artists have found their voices.

These artists include Elvis Blue, Karen Zoid, Chris Chameleon and André Schwartz.

Television personality Riaan Cruywagen has had a longstanding relationship with Lindenkoor and will be master of ceremony at the gala concert.

Under the leadership of choir master Duncan Fourie and accompanied by Gert Potgieter, Lindenkoor has developed an extensive music programme that will be performed to entertain the audience during its 21st birthday celebration.

Music lovers can look forward to performances of Bohemian Rhapsody, traditional folksongs and a number of much loved classics.

The 21st celebration concert will end with a special rendition of Händel’s Hallelujah Chorus.

Lindenkoor is also proud to announce it was notified that, it is the only choir or large group which has progressed through to the semi-finals of the National Eisteddfod Association (NEA) competition. The choir said it was humbled by this honour and recognition.

After its celebrations, Lindenkoor, will focus all their efforts into polishing their material for NEA’s next round which will be hosted on 6 May at the Roodepoort Civic Theatre.
