The battle begins
WELTEVREDENPARK- Bands are set to compete for the number one spot and win over R200 000 worth of prizes.
The Unnamed Angels, Sweating Blood, Dekota Lin, Casket and Inspect Her Gently are in action on Wednesday 8 October at the wild card round of the Battle 4 Rumours. First band is on stage at 8pm.
Order of play is determined on the night at 7pm. If you pop into Rumours you will hear some of the future sounds of the South African music scene between 8pm and 11pm. There is food at the venue.
Cover charge is R40.
With over R200 000 worth of prizes on offer for the winning band at this year’s Battle 4 Rumours, fans can be guaranteed of hearing great music every Wednesday night at Rumours. Music Connection is sponsoring a top-of-the-range backline for the winning band in December and Atelier Studios is sponsoring a 12-track recording.
Rumours is situated at the Palm Court Centre, corner of JG Strydom and Cornelius streets in Weltevreden Park.
This event is aimed at stimulating the growth of bands from a grassroots level, giving them constructive criticism so as to continuously improve and become better entertainers. Bands that performed in the Emerging Sounds competitions in their developing stages over the past 18 years include: Seether, Freshly Ground, The Parlotones, Prime Circle, Shortstraw, 340ml, The Finkelsteins, Cutting Jade, 1st Project, Pestroy, Chromium, Taxi Violence and the Blk Jacks.
