The Inyanda House in Parktown was evacuated after a bomb threat was received on 12 November.
Sandile Sinelane, spokesperson for Transnet, which operates from the building in Girton Road, said that Transnet received a call that there were bombs in the building and they responded in accordance with their emergency procedures. Hillbrow Police and Metro Police responded to the scene.
A K9 Unit arrived, and together with the police, they searched the premises. After the search, Hillbrow Police spokesperson Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo said that after implementing safety measures, no bomb was found. He declared the area safe.
He said that a case of bomb threat would be opened if Transnet stepped forward as the complainant.
