Right to Care wish list
WESTEDENE – Right to Care willingly helps those who need the most help.
Right to Care foundation is a non-profit organisation that supports and delivers prevention, care, and treatment services for HIV and associated diseases.
Through technical assistance, Right to Care supports the Gauteng Department of Health at national level. Support at provincial level is provided primarily in five provinces: Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, Western Cape, and Free State. In addition, through direct service delivery, Right to Care treats patients for HIV, TB, cervical cancer, and sexually transmitted infections.
Support for clinical programmes is delivered through development of clinical best practices, research, training, mentoring, participation in technical committees, provision of facilities and equipment, and secondment of staff – among others services.
Our wish list is:
- Everyone knows their HIV status
- All young boys and men are circumcised to prevent the spread of HIV
- All men and women take account of the HIV risks and use condoms during sex
- All patients who have symptoms of TB come forward for testing
- Women have pap smears for early diagnosis of cervical cancer
Our biggest wish for 2016 is that Our Right to Care automated dispensary for chronic medication is supported by the community. We are so happy that we will launch our Right-e-Pharmacy in April of next year.
