Special moments were enjoyed at King David Victory Park pre-primary, primary and nursery school as parents were treated to a Seder, where the children sang songs about Pesach.
Every year, Jews celebrate the Festival of Passover, which is Pesach in Hebrew. The festival commemorates the Exodus of the Israelites who were enslaved in Egypt, some 3 300 years ago. Pesach is spread over eight days from 23 to 30 April.

The highlight of the festival is a special meal on the first two nights known as ‘the Seder’. The meal has a special order to it and attention is given to children throughout the meal. A prayer book, called the Haggadah is used on these evenings. The school hosted the Seders on 18, 19 and 20 April so that children could share it with their friends in preparation for Pesach.
“It is customary for families and friends to spend these evenings together where the story of the Exodus is recited,” said Rabbi Mendel Rabinowitz, King David Victory Park campus rabbi.
