Interdict to keep UJ’s private security within the law

On 29 September, a group of UJ lecturers and students held an urgent press conference at a community hall in Fordsburg to voice difficulties they said they had faced at the hands of private bouncers and security personnel.

Last week saw private security use pepper spray, teargas and allegedly assault students and journalists to disrupt protest action at the university.
