Wits Juniors recorded an unbeaten run across five age divisions in their Gauteng Development League fixtures against Rockefvs FC at Wits Marks Park Sports Ground on October 10.

The U17 encounter saw Wits fight back from a first-half setback to earn their share of the points. A goalkeeping error in the U17 match allowed Minenhle Masombuka to put Rockefvs ahead, making them grow in confidence and making it difficult for Wits to build attacks. Wits, however, returned for the second half with renewed determination and created several opportunities. Udonna Ogbonna sent an attempt wide and Muaaz Carrim fired over the crossbar as the hosts searched for an equaliser.

Wits briefly thought they had levelled through Ogbonna, but the goal was ruled out for offside. They eventually drew level when Chinedu Ogbodo converted a penalty after Carrim was brought down in the six-yard box. Wits continued to push for a winner and earned another penalty after Keoagile Matshaba was brought down in the same area. Ogbodo stepped up again, but this time his effort was saved by the Rockefvs goalkeeper.

Wits came close to taking all three points when Matshaba delivered a dangerous cross into the six-yard area. Ogbonna connected with the delivery, but his attempt struck the post, and the match ended 1–1.
