De La Salle Holy Cross College has announced its new leaders for next year during a special assembly at the school.
The current leaders of 2016 ceremoniously handed over their badges to the new leaders, wishing them all the best. This is a long-standing school tradition.
Next year’s head girl, Deena Martin said that her heads and councillors are ready and feel very privileged to have been chosen. “We are looking forward to the challenge that awaits us in our new positions.” She added that they intend to lead their school with an attitude of enthusiasm and commitment and they hope to have an influence in all aspects of college life and to live out their school’s motto of ‘Be first that you may be of service’.
Principal Debbie Harris said that their leadership programme is one of development, growth and empowerment. “We aim to appoint leaders who accept a position of responsibility – a job description along with accountability to their tasks,” said Harris.
She said that she has great faith in the new councillors and matric class of 2017.
