Beagle Watch Armed Response helped to arrest a man who was allegedly trespassing on a resident’s property.
The security company’s spokesperson, Anne Wood, said their response team received a call on 31 January from a resident who had seen a suspicious man enter a neighbour’s Canyon Avenue, Berario property at about 9.15am. “Beagle Watch managed to get to him before he could [allegedly] break into the house,” said Wood.
While in the custody of security officers, the suspect claimed he was there looking for employment. No weapons were found on him. “He was arrested by the Beagle Watch team and handed over to the Fairland police.”
Constable Moloko Kgatla of Fairland Police Station said the suspect was detained and a case of trespassing would be opened. The station would check his fingerprints to see if he was wanted for crimes or robberies in the area.
