VOXPOP: Surviving the lockdown

JOBURG – While some will Netflix, others will catch up on some work.

Shoppers share how they are planning to survive the 21-day lockdown.

With less than 48 hours to go before South Africa goes into its first-ever lockdown, people have been hitting the stores to stock up. Toiletries, non-perishable goods and medical supplies were top of the list with a touch of fun snacks and treats.

The shoppers themselves were calm and practising all the tips given to them to not contract the virus. The Northcliff Meville Times asked a few shoppers how they plan to survive the upcoming lockdown. Take a look at what they had to say:

RIDWAN KHAN: I will be staying indoors the whole time as instructed. We will be minimising social contact as much as we can and stay clean and health. Netflix, YouTube and the internet will keep us entertained during this time.
ACHMAT ADAMS: The time for me to fix everything in the house has come. The first thing I will be attending to is painting my daughter’s room, something I’ve been putting off for a while now.
