Beagle Watch has reminded residents at home and at work to be wary of criminals, as they carry out their daily tasks. This comes as the Fairland-based security company has started seeing a rise in suspicious activity and incidents in the area. Beagle Watch is urging the public to be alert and extra vigilant, and has shared the following safety tips: • Check that your perimeter security, such as electric fence and garden beams, are in working condition • Keep a panic button close-by at all times • Ensure that no valuable items are visible from your perimeter • Clear the areas around the gates of bushes and other hiding places • Be vigilant when entering or exiting your driveway or when outside of your property • Do not wear jewellery when going out to exercise and keep your mobile phone hidden • Activate your alarm when you go out, even if it is just for a short walk or quick shopping trip • When at home, keep doors and gates locked and activate garden alarm equipment whenever possible • At night, ensure that all windows and doors are locked. Close curtains or blinds and move easy-to-snatch items such as cell phones, laptops and jewellery out of sight and away from windows and doors.
