Brixton’s Festival of Lights

BRIXTON – The community was treated to an evening of sheer delight as they gathered in the name of creative art.

It was all about the arts in Brixton recently when the community was treated to the Festival of Lights.

The event, which was creatively directed by local artist Tamzyn Limb, was just the sort of joy the community needed to experience. At the start of the event community members gathered along Putney Road where they were greeted by eye-catching installations that intrigued all.

All of the art installations for the night were done by artists who either showed their talents through photography, music, dance, and the creation of murals, or one-of-a-kind paintings. All of these art pieces were showcased uniquely along streets and alleyways throughout the suburb and those in attendance could marvel at these bodies of work as they took a collective walk through their community.

The Sentech Tower was also lit up on the night and it captivated everyone.
