Sector 4 subforum gets a committee
LINDEN – This particular forum falls under the Linden CPF and committee members were nominated by community members.
The Linden CPF held its first meeting to constitute the Sector 4 subforum committee on February 8.
This came after the policing forum had sent a plea out to the community for nominations of members for this particular subforum to be cast. The process of these elections was overseen by the Gauteng Provincial CPF Board and a representative from the office of the MEC for Community Safety.
Suburbs that fall under the Sector 4 subforum are Blackheath, Cresta, Darrenwood, Kelland, Windsor East and Windsor West. All the nominees are residents of the varying communities mentioned.
Among the people in attendance at the meeting was station commander Colonel Shaid Abdool who implored the nominees to go out into the community and work for the people. “Sector 4 needs every bit of intervention from the committee,” he said.
He added that he was looking forward to working with everyone on the committee with mutual respect and through treating one another with dignity. “Now that this committee has formed, we need to go out there and gain the trust of all the communities in this sector forum.”
He concluded that trust can be won over within their communities if they show care and take residents’ concerns very seriously by doing exactly what it is they had been elected to do.
