An Easter celebration to remember

Local pre-school and popular radio station work together to give the kids of Hlalisekani Playgroup an Easter to remember.

Little Ashford and Hot 102.7 along with Hot Cares hosted a fun Easter celebration party at the Hlalisekani Playgroup in Kya Sand.

The principal for its Linden branch, Andy Swanepoel, said the schools’ purpose is to nurture the intellectual growth and development of all children. So it was extremely important for them to make a difference in all children’s lives and ensure that they have a solid foundation for their future educational journey.

“We run monthly collections of food, clothing and equipment for the children and their families as well as training workshops for the staff of Hlalisekani to ensure the children are engaging in stimulating and enriching activities that will help them achieve their educational milestones.”

Swanepoel added they also ensure that the children experience fun and meaningful events such as the one they have just hosted. There were loads of sweets, pizza, and dress-up fun but best of all, this was their very first Easter-egg hunt.

To make this day the success story it was, teams from Little Ashford Rosebank, North Riding, Florida Hills and Bryanston put in the hard work so children could have a memorable day. “We also would like to thank the team from Stat-Tiakeni Medical for supplying all the party treats,” said Swanepoel.

She concluded by thanking the schools’ parents for their generosity. “In particular, we would like to say a special thank you to one of our moms, Terry Michael, for the most beautiful crocheted handmade Easter baskets that she lovingly made for each child at Hlalisekani.”
