Laerskool Fairland’s netball winners

The school's U13A netball team recently competed in the SA Schools Netball Championships and in top rankings.

Laerskool Fairland U13A netball team achieved national ranking after they had competed in the South African Schools Netball Championships.

The championships took place on August 6 to 7 and the team, accompanied by their coach, Lillian Fouché, left it all on the court, beating the competition and finishing third place.

Team members are said to have been playing together for four years and put in extra hours – training on weekends and during school holidays. The competitive netball team has only had one loss and one draw with a winning streak lasting four years.

Their passion and enthusiasm have been an inspiration for their peers. After winning the Gauteng Championships, the team challenged themselves by playing against high school netball teams as well as a team from Namibia.

The team members are: Carla Boshoff, Taliya Moolman, Minke Böhmer, Symohne Schutte, Shylah Edwards, Kaylan Potgieter, Karla Viljoen, Duané Coetzee and Lomé Vorster.
