Hoërskool Linden’s got talent

The school recently held its 36th annual talent show and it was the perfect display of the talent the school holds.

Hoërskool Linden recently hosted their annual Artes that saw some of their learners take to the stage to show off their talents.

Teacher at the school, Lanie Snyman, explained this show has taken place since 1988, which made this year, the school’s 36th annual event.

It is important for them to showcase the talents that sit in the various classrooms as it serves as an opportunity for them to show just how unique their learners are. Whether it was beatboxing or dancing, to singing and playing a musical instrument audiences were left captivated by the aptitude the children displayed on stage. Some even delivered monologues and short pieces.

Learners from Grade 8 to 12 participated and one aspect that surprised Snyman was the children’s genuine love for their craft and the appreciation of the others skills. “Though the kids are super competitive, they are also very supportive of each other.”

The school finds great pride in being a very culture-orientated student body – one that offers various opportunities for their learners to showcase their talents and Artes is a culmination of their hard work.

From taking part in this event, Snyman hoped the performers left the stage filled with pride of their individual natural talents. “Along with this, all the time and effort they put in to hone their craft. Also, to appreciate the variety in talent and personality of the learners.”
