High scores and high spirits on the lanes for Wednesday Warriors

The Wednesday Warriors league opened with an electrifying atmosphere featuring stunning performances and a series of impressive scores to roll off the new year.

The Wednesday Warriors league kicked off last week at the Northcliff Bowl, with a competitive and exciting start to the year. The league features ten teams, consisting of four players each, with a diverse group of 11 ladies and 29 male bowlers ranging from novice to intermediate, and even Springbok levels.

One of the standout moments of the evening was Lance Mnyandu, from the Presidents and Co team, who bowled an impressive 279, claiming the first-ever club 300 pot.

The 39ft pattern presented challenges, with some bowlers finding it more manageable than others. However, several bowlers delivered outstanding performances, achieving 600 plus series scores for the night.

Some of the performances recorded were as follows:

• Sean Van Den Berg earned top spot with 678 points,
• Jaco Erasmus and Robbie Govender at a combined 645 points,
• Leon Muller with 640 points, and lastly
• Michael Du Preez with 622 points.
