The day has been described as one that sees Scouts worldwide celebrate their shared beliefs, reflect on their achievements and recommit to the aims of Scouting.

The school’s marketing assistant, Jenny Myburgh, said Scouting equips children with essential life skills, preparing them for future leadership, teamwork, resilience, and community engagement. “It instills a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a commitment to service.” Adding, whether facing academic challenges, personal growth, or future careers, Scouting provides a foundation that helps learners become confident, responsible, and well-rounded individuals.

The school sees Scouts as a way to help learners cultivate leadership, responsibility, teamwork, perseverance, and a strong moral compass. This, while also teaching them self-discipline, respect for others, and the importance of service to the community. In the school’s opinion, Scouts also develop problem-solving skills, confidence, and the ability to adapt to different situations, which is crucial for personal growth and future success.

One of the many beliefs the school has is instilling a sense of wonder in their learners, which sees them foster curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. “Encouraging them to explore and appreciate the world around them helps develop critical thinking, resilience, and an open-minded approach to new challenges,” said Myburgh. Further adding, that a sense of wonder inspires innovation, deepens faith, and nurtures a compassionate understanding of humanity – values that align with their Lasallian ethos.

The school hopes these Scouts embody Baden-Powell’s sense of duty, leadership, integrity, and service to others. Myburgh said the Scout founder’s emphasis on self-reliance, courage, and kindness aligns with the school’s mission to develop responsible, faith-filled individuals who make a positive impact on their communities. “We encourage our pupils to live by his motto: ‘Be prepared’, and always be ready to serve and lead with compassion and strength.”
