Family tied up and assaulted during home invasion in Northcliff
Police are investigating the incident following an orchestrated robbery which saw electronics and jewellery stolen.
A family were tied up during a violent home invasion on Senior Drive in Northcliff recently.
“Both parents and their two children were at home at the time of the robbery with the son also assaulted when he tried to protect his family,” said SCP Security’s Clive Maher.

The house was cleaned out of electronics and other items such as jewellery with the entire incident taking place in a short space of time.
The family vehicle was stolen after suspects managed to derail the gate with a crowbar whereby the criminals gained access to the property.

“The stolen vehicle was recovered on Riana Avenue in Northcliff a short while later,” said Maher.
Sophiatown Police Station spokesperson Captain TJ de Bruyn said, “We are investigating the matter.”
Maher urged homeowners to install a metal lip or gate alarm which would alert their private security company that the gate had been opened without the use of the correct gate remote so help could be sent quickly.
