Police get ready for festive season
As the festive season approaches the the station readies itself to be seen in the community.
It’s all systems go for the festive season at Brixton Police Station.
The officers have shined their boots and are ready to start with their festive season operations and crime prevention initiatives throughout Brixton.
The spokesperson for the station Jeanette Backhoff said their focus this holiday season would be on visible policing, crimes against women and children and road traffic regulations. External law enforcement agencies as well as reservists would also be involved and all available resources at their disposal would be used.

“Crimes such as theft of and out of motor vehicles, house robberies and common robberies are still a concern but we want to send a strong message that these types of crimes will not be tolerated and that systems have been put in place to catch the perpetrators and to ensure that they appear in court,” she said.
Backhoff also warned residents to be on the lookout for opportunistic criminals. “This happens usually at restaurants where valuables are left on a table or valuables that are left in motor vehicles.”

She urged vigilance at all times and to report any suspicious activities or people immediately. She called for the need to work together to curb crime.
“Small businesses are also reminded to not close late during the evenings as they send open invitations to be robbed. We want to wish all the people in our community a happy festive season and remember that safety comes first.”
