Their first open day featured a packed programme that celebrated both the fun and the practical side of dog ownership. Highlights included a Shelter Doggo Showcase, where rescue dogs had their moment in the spotlight, alongside a colourful Breed Parade that introduced visitors to a variety of breeds and their unique traits. Demonstrations such as ‘Good Dog Obedience’ showed what consistent training can achieve, playful obstacle courses, and a Fancy Dress Dog and Handler competition.

Trainer Mike Greyling explained the aim behind the day: “The idea was to expose the club to the community, to show people what we do, but also to have a fun day. It gives people an idea of what dog training clubs are about, and the shelter and breed parades are a chance for people to get to know different breeds and what they’re about.”
