Berario kids light up streets in Spooktacular Kidical Mass Halloween bike ride

The event, known for its blend of fun, fitness, and festive flair, owes much of its growth to the enthusiasm of Robert Janbroers and Nigel Laver, who helped bring together groups from both the Cliffview and Northwest Christian school communities. What started as a small neighbourhood ride has steadily drawn families from across the area, creating a joyful mix of costumed cyclists and cheering residents.

This year’s Halloween edition was a true “Spooktacular” success. From tiny ghosts and goblins to pint-sized superheroes, the riders transformed Berario’s streets into a parade of lights, laughter, and pedal-powered excitement.

SCP Security joined the fun, helping to ensure everyone’s safety while celebrating alongside families. Their presence added to the sense of community spirit that has made Kidical Mass such a beloved local fixture.

While Halloween remains a highlight, the group’s rides also take place around Easter, Christmas, and, truthfully, any occasion that gives the kids another reason to cycle — and maybe collect a few sweet treats along the way.
