30 years strong: Rose Village carries on

For the new year, this retirement home hopes to give the elderly it serves, as well as those that are new, the sort of respite they deserve.

Founded in 1996, Methodist Homes Association Rose Village is a retirement home in the heart of Roosevelt Park.

In June, they will officially celebrate their 30th anniversary, but along with this big milestone, the home will also proudly boast a borehole, all this through the help of Methodist Homes Association Rose Village head office.

“This means residents aren’t affected during any municipal water outages,” said manager Marcia Visser.

Her wish for 2026 is the good health of the residents, and to see more people join the village, as it’s a home for those whose families can’t be with them every day.r

It is a place where the elderly can still lead a full life, with residents of a similar age becoming friends in a safe, happy, and caring environment.

Along with welcoming more residents, its a hope of theirs to really make a difference to the life of each resident, by combatting boredom and loneliness, and providing the kind of support the elderly people benefit from.
