Join Melville Koppies in 2026

The non-profit hopes the year will see more people marvel over this natural site from within it, rather than just from their house windows.

If you’re keen on starting something new this year, why not consider becoming a volunteer at the Melville Koppies nature reserve and heritage site?

For 2026, this non-profit organisation hopes for a good working relationship with Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ), and its surrounding communities, so people may actually visit, instead of gazing at their site from their homes.

Among their many hopes for the year is to attract more members of the public and school groups, so many can share in this special place. Another hope is to improve their fencing, so that it is more secure.

What will help them even more this year are volunteers, especially young ones, to help as guides, reception duties when they are open, and to give new ideas of how they can attract new people to visit.
