The game that sparked Ryden Forsyth’s rise

He picked up padel just a year ago – now he is sponsored, coached by top players and chasing bigger dreams on court.

He has achieved great success, and the young sportsman tells us about his love for sports and, most importantly, what he has managed to achieve through padel.

Here is what he had to say…
I’ve been into sports for as long as I can remember. Being active has always been important to me, and padel has become the sport I am most passionate about.
From the first time I played, I loved the speed of the game and the challenge it brings. I have been playing padel for just over a year and have already been sponsored by Nuvo padel and I am an ambassador for Qurtuba Padel Academy. I am very lucky to have three amazing coaches: Debbie van Aswegan and Warren Khun, who are both top South African padel players, and my fitness coach is Smith Pepper from Harmon Performance Academy.

I would encourage other children to take part in something they love, especially sport, because it helps them grow in so many ways. Padel teaches you commitment, teamwork, and confidence, and it shows you that improvement comes from practice and effort. Sport also helps you make friends and enjoy being active while having fun.
What I love most about padel is how exciting and fast-paced it is. No two matches are the same, and you always have to think ahead, move quickly, and work with your partner. I enjoy learning new skills and pushing myself to become better every time I step onto the court.

Being involved in padel has added discipline, focus, and confidence to my life. It has taught me how to handle pressure and stay positive. I hope to continue improving, compete at a higher level, and see how far my passion for padel can take me in the future. You can follow my journey on Instagram: ryden_forsyth27.
