There are numerous various events held at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens / Emmerentia dam i.e. the Festival of colour/light, 702 walk, marathons, music festivals etc.

On 6 September there was the Johannesburg Carnival which was the worst one, we as residents have ever experienced.

The noise pollution in the days and with the setup and testing of all the equipment leading up to the events, at times into the early morning hours, we as residents have come to hate all such events. People come into our suburbs and as it is not in front of their house they could not care and the behaviour is absolutely despicable.

Our properties suffer various forms of damage and people urinate in the gardens and against our boundary fences. In most instances we have to clean up the mess left. I can only assume that clothes are washed in the dam and then hung up on our palisade fence.

I was always under the impression the a Botanical Garden is for peace and quiet and the wildlife.

Is this litter necessary?
