LISTEN: Montezz breaks into the music scene

PARKTOWN – Montessa Plane is riding the wave of Afro-pop and RNB with her new single titled 'I Work Hard'.

Montessa Plane popularly known as Montezz is an up-and-coming musician who aims to take the music industry by storm.

The local resident hails from humble beginnings and is soon to become a force to be reckoned with within the industry.

The young go-getter recently released her first single titled I work Hard, which was she said, inspired by everyday life and the hustle of Johannesburg.

The Afro-pop and RNB songstress is proving that she could soon become the darling of South Africa.

She started singing in church, so going into the studio was a natural progress for the 22-year-old.

Plane grew up in the east of Johannesburg in a community that is known for crime and not a lot of people are motivated enough.

She also added that she wants her music to inspire change in the community, “I want everyone who listens to my music to get up and do something with their lives.”

Plane also has a nine-to-five job but she said music is her first love.

“I am inspired by the different emotions and feelings that music can make one feel and I believe I can use music to reach out to a lot of people,” she said.

Plane expressed that she would like to one day collaborate with the Muffinz.

She also advised others that if one wants to break into the music industry they should first learn the business side of music.
