New gate motor for Marang
NORTHCLIFF – Marang House called upon the community and received a much-needed gate motor for the safety of the children in their care.
Marang House in Northcliff is a charity dedicated to care for children who suffer from chronic implications associated with renal failure, lung disease, cardiac disease and diabetes.
Melanie Tennant, administrator of Marang House, said that their auto electric gate broke about a month ago. “Many people tried to fix the motor, but it is just too old and unrepairable,” said Tennant. Marang House has 13 children in their care as well as the staff who they need to keep safe. The gate is very important for security purposes.
Fortunately, a company in North Riding, Centurion Systems came to their aid and donated a gate motor to Marang House. Eddie Thorburn from ET Gates offered to install the motor free of charge. “I saw on Facebook that Marang House was in need of a gate motor and decided to help as we provide all access automation equipment,” said Charl Mijnhardt, communications officer of Centurion Systems.
Mijnhardt explained that their company gives back to about six charities in a month. “It is our way to thank the community for supporting our business. Without the support of the community, we won’t be able to function,” said Mijnhardt.
Mijnhardt delivered the new gate motor, and Thorburn installed it on 19 April.
Tennant said that she is absolutely delighted and over the moon to have received such a generous donation.
