Art in all its glory
MELVILLE – The Art House expresses its love for art through showcasing the passion of others.
Art comes alive at the Art House, a new venue in Melville targeting people who are interested in exposing their art for the first time.
The gallery is for upcoming artists who are looking to boldly enter the world of exhibiting their art to a bigger audience. Space is available for exhibits and events. The space is also structured like a circle with two floors.”This space is great for artists who want to exhibit their works in a unique and bold way,” said Isa Gesseau.
The Art House’s main drive is to showcase art in all its forms, paintings, and abstract structures. “We want this space to have all sorts of art as it is such a powerful tool,” said Gausseau.
She pointed out that art in our country is growing slowly which gives local artist even better opportunities. “SA art is incredibly creative, lots of the local art galleries have both international and local artists,” she said.
She cited hubs like the Maboneng Precinct that make a huge addition to the arts. “It is never easy to take the plunge and become a full-time artist but more and more artists are taking that plunge which is great,” stressed Gesseau.
She concluded that she does think that local artists are recognised internationally and even more locally. As artists express themselves through many portals they begin to understand the importance of their work. “Artists are beginning to understand that their want for beautiful things does not impede on the need for it to be meaningful,” said Gausseau.
