Vryheid’s Amasobode Foundation welcomes 30 NYS participants
Thirty NYS participants have joined the Amasobode Foundation to support youth development and educational programmes.
The Amasobode Foundation has welcomed 30 Youth Life participants placed at the organisation through the National Youth Service (NYS) programme by the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).
The programme was officially launched in the month of July at King Bhekuzulu Hall in Vryheid, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the organisation and the young participants.
Participants bring fresh energy
The participants started their work at the Foundation on 21 July, bringing new energy and commitment to its programmes.
Their involvement has strengthened the Foundation’s Career Development and Educational Support initiatives, while also giving new momentum to its garden project.
The Foundation said the additional support has helped improve the delivery of its programmes and created opportunities for the young participants to contribute to community development.
Supporting Grade 9 learners
The impact of the participants’ involvement was highlighted on 20 August, when the Foundation visited Inkanyezi Yesizwe Primary School to assist Grade 9 learners with subject selection.
The session focused on career development and helping learners make informed decisions about the subjects they choose, which can influence their future studies and career opportunities.
The school welcomed the initiative, with learners and parents responding positively to the guidance provided.
A Life Orientation teacher at Inkanyezi Yesizwe Primary School, praised the quality of the programme.
“This year’s level was very high, different and so informative. I wish we can continue developing these kids’ minds and giving them our best as we always do.”
