Newcastle Herb Society Cheese making workshop
The Newcastle Herb society will be hosting a Cheese making workshop on September 20.
Venue : Methodist church hall
No special equipment is needed for most of the cheeses I am going to demonstrate. The purpose of the workshop is to teach you how easy it is to make cheese at home with basic ingredients and in the comfort of your own kitchen.
The workshop will cover the following :
- equipment
- Ingredients
- Non pressed cheeses (cottage, neuf chatel, blue cheese, spread cheese, kefir cheese, yoghurt cheese, ricotta, english cream)
- Pressed cheeses (feta, parmesan, romano)
- Vegan cheese (tofu, smoked tofu)
- Artisan cheeses :- now we add chocolate
Workshop program
08:00 – 09:00 registration & tea
09:00 – 12:00 welcome, introduction and workshop
12:00 – 13:00 lunch
13:00 – 15:00 workshop continues
15:00 – 16:00 wrap up. Q&a
Refreshments – tea will be hosted by the Newcastle Herb Society ladies as part of their fund raising. Please bring own lunch. No lunch will be available.
Cost of the workshop will be R200 which includes a manual and recipe book.
To ensure your space, payment and booking confirmation to be received by no later than 10 august 2014. Full refund if cancellation is by 31 august 2014.
