Bowling Club goes down market

THE Vryheid Bowling Club held their year end function on Friday, December 13, with the theme for the evening being a hobo party. A great evening was enjoyed by all, with prizes for the best dressed going to Kobie and Dries, who had everyone screeching with laughter. Well done to everyone and a big thank you to Jade and Savannah for helping Mama Malan with the preparation of the food and the decoration of the tables. The ‘hobos’ had a feast of fish and chips, wrapped in newspaper and pudding out of the tin. On a more serious note, on Saturday our Carole’s winners were announced. Ron and Nolan, two serious participants, played every month. 1st Nolan Malan played 12 x score 232; 2nd Jan de Lange played 11 x score 227; 3rd Ron James 12 x 224; 4th John Cross 10 x 219; 5th Henry Klofta 10 x 211 and 6th Petina Malan 8 x 170.
