Gladiators' Mohammed Asghar destroyed the Wicket Wasps' top order in a breathtaking spell of fast bowling. In his four overs he took five wickets without conceding a single run and ended with the unbelievable figures of (4-4-0-5).
ON Sunday, March 22, two Twenty20 matches were played at Cecil Emmett Park.
In the morning game, Gladiators played Wicket Wasps. Batting first, the Gladiators only managed to score 70 runs in the 15th over, mainly due to good bowling from Andrew Brooks (2-0-5-2) and Philip Schutte (3-0-8-2), with only Wikus Janse van Rensburg (14) and Juan Barnard (11) managing to get double figures for the Gladiators.

A good ‘captain’s knock’ from Tiaan Naudè (46 not out) saw the Wicket Wasps to victory in the 11th over. Wicket Wasps won by four wickets.

The afternoon game was played between Mr X and Wicket Wasps. Wicket Wasps batted first and scored 107 all out in the 20th over with Triztian Nel (28) and Andrew Brooks (16) top scoring.

Best bowling for Mr X came from Gavin Bosman (4-0-7-5) and Devin Aspden (4-1-26-2). Mr X managed to reach the target in the 18th over, losing five wickets along the way. Duvan Grobbelaar (38) and Marco Vosloo (16) were the top run scorers for Mr X, while Ruan Senekal (4-0-17-2) and Philip Schutte (3-24-2) returned the best bowling figures for Wicket Wasps. Mr X won by five wickets.
