Celebrating freedom for everyone

In the name of 'unity in diversity', calls for unity and peace were encouraged

To commemorate Freedom Day on Monday, April 27 Umtshezi Municipality hosted a Freedom Day celebration at Princess Park. Foreign nationals gathered with local community members in an atmosphere of unity and peace. Songs were played by a local DJ and foreign nationals organised a food tasting table, where foreign dishes could be sampled by local community members, which was rather interesting. In the background ‘peace soccer matches’ were played. Each ward played a soccer match against a team of foreign nationals. In the name of ‘unity in diversity’, calls for unity and peace were encouraged as the day was enjoyed by all present.
