The Old Hooters Club hosted a fun rally and treasure hunt on April 23, where members got to rediscover their home town.
Event organisers, Hennie Marsburg and Richard Rockell, said club members were given pictures of places around Newcastle to identify and obtain certain information about.
“We scratched out information on the pictures and members had to find the place in the picture, go there, find out what that information was and then go to the next place,” informed Mr Marsburg.
En route, members had to collect three ‘treasure’ items, comprising of a toothpick, a plastic spoon, and the second page of last week’s Newcastle Advertiser.
The idea of the rally was to see how well residents knew their town and to determine who would complete the entire route in the shortest time and distance, said Mr Marsburg.
The winners of the rally were Charles and Eddie Honeyball, who completed the challenge in 31 kilometers.
Mr Marsburg thanked all participants, and thanked the sponsors for prizes.
