The Zen Den marked International Yoga Day by promoting authentic yoga and wellbeing tohelp achieve balance and inner peace.
The Zen Den Yoga Studio celebrated International Yoga Day this month.
Authentic yoga, according to Roshella Kishun, is a holistic, traditional practice that goes beyond physical exercise.
“It unites the body, breath, mind and spirit, promoting overall wellbeing and inner balance,” she said.

What is International Yoga Day?
International Yoga Day is observed annually on June 21, aligning with the summer solstice (longest day of the year) in the northern hemisphere. It’s the winter solstice and shortest day here in South Africa.
It was first proposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and officially adopted by the United Nations in 2014 to raise global awareness of yoga’s many benefits.
Originating in India more than 5000 years ago, yoga is a holistic discipline that connects the mind, body and spirit. It goes beyond physical exercise, promoting flexibility, strength and posture while reducing stress and fostering inner peace.
Today, International Yoga Day is celebrated worldwide with community events, group classes and messages promoting wellness, unity and balance.
