Getting healthy with the family

The day was indeed lots of fun and lots of fantastic gifts to inspire healthy living were given away

There’s no better way to get healthy, than with your family! The Department of Sports and Recreation in conjunction with the Macksons Sports Academy hosted a Family Heath Day on Sunday, October 23 at Lambert Park.

Families and friends gathered at the entrance of the Lambert Park to kick-start the day with a 5km walk. The Forderville Athletics Club members were stationed along the route to guide the walkers.

Participants enjoyed refreshments at the 2.5km point. Everyone who completed the walk received a medal, after which fun Zumba and aerobics sessions took place.

The day was indeed lots of fun and lots of fantastic gifts to inspire healthy living were given away. The children had active games to play to help them keep fit while their parents enjoyed various games such as musical chairs and sack race.
