Carp challenges anglers at Wagendrift Dam

Sadly, most of the fish were on holiday

A small but enthusiastic and dedicated band of carp anglers supported the Carp Challenge organised by Forderville Primary School.

Mrs and Mr Ommarpersad.

Anglers were monitored throughout the tournament and all fish caught were safely returned to the water. Sadly, most of the fish were on holiday.

Roy Kirpal was one of the competitors.

Sheldon Naidoo caught the first whopper of the day weighing a massive 880 grams! This special fish earned him R1 700 (almost two rand per gram). A special fish indeed, still swimming in the Wagendrift Dam. Richard and Damian Drewett and Shannon Ramsomaar also won R600 hourly prizes.

Organisers and assistants for the competition Preggie Naidoo, Anand Misrilall, Anil Sookraj and Yaseen.

Forderville Primary School Principal Anil Sookraj thanked all participants, sponsors and assistants Preggie Naidoo, Avesh Basdew, Anand Misrilall and Yaseen for making the event possible.
