Farhaan Hardware are cricket champs
Action heated up when the final was about to get underway between Aster and Farhaan Hardware
The much-anticipated Umtshezi Cricket Association Annual Round Robin Tournament was held over the weekend at the Lambert Park Cricket grounds.
The cricket season came to an end after eight teams competed in the T20, Pro30 and 50 over leagues, building up to the T10 cricketing tournament to end off the season.
Despite the rain that was experienced, spirits were not dampened. Teams battled it out for semi-final spots which Farhaan Hardware won. Action heated up when the final was about to get underway between Aster and Farhaan Hardware.
Supporters of both teams sat up straight in their seats. Ahead of finals both teams walked onto the field not knowing what to expect, as team Aster had won all the games they have played to that point, while Farhaan Hardware had been knocking jaw-dropping sixes.
Farhaan Hardware batted first and Aster second, and loud cheers and applause where heard throughout. In the end team Farhaan Hardware were announced as the champions of the 2016/2017 season. Overall the tournament was enjoyed by all and cricket fanatics are already anticipating the next season.
