The purpose of the tournament was for competitors to build up points to compete in the South African Championships.
The sounds of cheering spectators filled the hall of Kruin Church’s Hall on Saturday, June 10, as the annual KwaZulu-Natal Grego-Roman Championships took place.
The championships saw 50 wrestlers from Newcastle, Dundee and Richards Bay compete against each other; each doing his utmost best to dominate the wrestling mat.
The purpose of the tournament was for competitors to build up points to compete in the South African Championships.
Each wrestler competed in four rounds.
As one of the main tournaments of the year, wrestlers were eager to participate and prove their worth on the mats.
