Umtshezi Darts Association honours players

"2017 has been one of the biggest and most successful in some of our darts careers"

An exciting and successful year was remembered by Umtshezi Darts Association at their prize giving function held on Saturday.

The club, which plays every Thursday at 7pm at Club Las Vegas, also celebrated its fifth anniversary.

To celebrate the association’s fifth year Mrs Anandparsad and Roshan Boros cut a cake.

Chairman Alan Anandparsad, when reflecting on 2017, said that the club was part of three major events.

A division winners: First – Rajen Goodoon, second – Alan Anandparsad and third- Viren Mungru.

The first was the KwaZulu-Natal Darts Federation League in May, club members participated in the South African Darts Championships in Durban as well as the Last Man Standing competition. Local players finished in the top four positions at the Last Man Standing competition.

B division winners: First – Dharshan Anandparsad, second – Pradeep Ramsaran and third – Roshan Boros.

“2017 has been one of the biggest and most successful in some of our darts careers. It has been an auspicious year, as we celebrate five years and we started a ladies league, which is the first of its kind in northern KwaZulu-Natal” said Mr Anandparsad.

The women’s division – Vilosha Ramsaran, Jenny Balliraj, Meena Ramsaran and Tash Mungru.

He thanked all the members for their hard work and the presentation ceremony began.

After the awards were presented in the A, B and Ladies divisions, a cake was cut to celebrate the association’s fifth anniversary.

Supper was served after the formalities.
